# The Tag family
> Small, independent tools for plain semantic HTML, from Kovir Labs. TagBrush.css makes HTML look finished, TagAction makes it behave as people expect, TagCheck finds mistakes, and TagKit gives you finished pages and sections to start from. No classes to learn, no framework, no build step, and every page still works with JavaScript off. Use any of them, alone or together.
## Which one to use
- **TagBrush.css** when a page should look good with plain HTML and no CSS of your own. One stylesheet; no JavaScript. Guide: https://kovirlabs.github.io/tagbrush/llms.txt
- **TagAction** when that HTML should also act finished: sortable tables, copy buttons on code, dialogs that open from a button, dropdown menus, show/hide on passwords, live totals. One script; no page code. Guide: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kovirlabs/tagaction/main/llms.txt
- **TagCheck** after writing or editing any HTML page, to find missing labels and alt text, fake buttons, broken id references, invented classes, low contrast, and sideways scrolling on phones. A command; nothing is added to the page. Guide: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kovirlabs/tagcheck/main/llms.txt
- **TagKit** when starting a page or adding a common section: copy-paste page templates (landing, dashboard, docs, blog post, sign-up, admin table) and snippets (hero, pricing, FAQ, stat tiles, data table, dialogs, forms), plus `npx @kovirlabs/tagkit build` to share a header and footer between static pages at build time, a Pandoc template for documents, and themes for Jekyll on GitHub Pages (`remote_theme: kovirlabs/tagkit-jekyll`), MkDocs, Hugo, and WordPress (a block theme), all tested with the other three. Guide: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kovirlabs/tagkit/main/llms.txt
Each guide is complete for its tool. Read the guide for each tool you use; this file explains how they fit together.
## A page that uses the family
```html
Orders
Orders
Total
Maya Lin
$1,240.00
Bo Ito
$18.00
```
TagBrush.css styles the page bar and the table; TagAction makes the columns sortable and marks the current page link with `aria-current="page"`. Then run `npx @kovirlabs/tagcheck orders.html` and fix what it reports.
## How to work with them
1. Start from a TagKit template or snippet when one fits, or write semantic HTML: the element that means what you want (`
